Taxpayers who owe a tax liability to the IRS may qualify for participation in an installment agreement. Those that owe $25,000 or less may fill out an Online Payment Agreement Application to complete the whole process online. Those that owe more than $25,000 may still qualify for an installment agreement by filling out a Collection Information Statement and an Installment Agreement Request and mailing them to the address on their tax bill.
Those that owe a Minnesota state tax liability may also qualify for an installment agreement. You must have received a bill from the MN Department of Revenue to set up a plan. Have your bill and social security number available, and then go to https://www.mndor.state.mn.us/tp/webppl.html to see if you qualify and to set up your plan.
